It’s one of the most cheerful rooms in the house, affectionately known to us as the “dog room”. Bernice would have enjoyed this space because she did love her pooches! The room features large windows on the north side of the house with beautiful draperies in a whimsical, sophisticated dog print. The carved wooden headboard is beautiful and a perfect backdrop for the blue damask bedding and thick, king size, luxurious mattress. The art in the room includes several dog themed prints, original string hardwood floors, period antique armoire and the original chandelier. You could never get up on the wrong side of the bed in this bright, cheery room. This suite features high speed, wireless internet, a 42- inch flat screen television and conveniently located electrical connections and USB ports on each side of the bed for all of those electronic devices we need these days.
The ensuite bathroom, or not, depending on the occupancy of the house, features an original claw-footed tub for soaking or showering. The tub has a shower curtain and hand-held wand if you prefer to shower. The vanity features a hand-painted, re-purposed cabinet and polished nickel faucets. The floor is original, refinished string pine, accented with black and white mosaic tile. A personal hairdryer, large, fluffy Turkish cotton towels, and locally handmade soaps, bath fizzies, shower seltzers made especially for Henrietta’s Heritage House complete the luxury experience.
